Contra Costa County HS football players inspired to join NFL-inspired ‘No More’ campaign

Inspired via the NFL’s “No More” campaign that aired during games last season, Contra Costa County is launching their own public service announcement by asking local highschool football players to similarly speak out against domestic violence and sexual assault.

High school football coaches inside the county are getting letters this month inviting their teams to get acquainted with the “Contra Costa Says No More” campaign, a county effort that coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

Students who comply with participate look inside a video much like one made by the NFL’s popular “No More” campaign (see below). While in the campaign, star players expressed your inability to tolerate statements used to downplay or justify domestic violence and sexual assault incidents.

The county’s local type of the “No More” campaign will be showcased at the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisor’s Oct. 20 meeting, at which this software will be expanded that include more local high school athletes.

The replication on the No More campaign is going on in communities nationwide, portion of an increasing effort where teenagers are encouraged to get involved with the perfect solution.

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month this past year, individuals the football teams at Acalanes, College Park and DeAnza High Schools wore purple ribbons with their helmets during home games.

Supervisor John Gioia has applauded this program, saying in a statement that this comes at a time when way too many domestic violence and sexual assault cases involve professional athletes who’re also role models to young athletes.
